Thanks to suggestion Holly, (sorry I am unable to reply to you due to the Shopify settings but I do hear you) let's talk about Pachyphytum Oviferum.
Oh well what I can say about her. Just like most original succulents, she's originated from Mexico which means she could tolerate high heat due to super thick layer of farina. What makes everyone falls in love with her probably is due to super chubby but quite oblongated leaves. However thanks to James' ( you should totally stalk his succulent collection via @gaymessucculents) super stressing method, we could now even understand how far she could stress to. Turns out she could be super rounded (from new growth) and could potentially stress from periwinkle to pink lemonade or pale coral.
Just like Graptopetalum Amethystinum, Oviferum prefers complete soilless mix, large drainage hole, high level of sun. To stress the colours, she definitely needs to experience temperature difference and less less less water. If you want to know the methods of growing Oviferum please refer to the Amethystinum.
Anyway let's talk about my journey with Oviferum. I initially bought Oviferum looking from the local plant market thinking she's Oviferum, but turns out she's Bracteosum as no matter how I stress her, her leaves remains obovate (although chubby). Turns out she's Bracteosum despite she have pale coral colour.
Here we are with the original Oviferum aka 星美人 .
Not to confuse with Pachyphytum Bracteosum 月美人, they tend to have wider leaves and no matter how to stress them they won't turn round although their stressed colour is almost similar

When it comes to Oviferum, Japanese hybrids seem to got everyone so confused. There are several Oviferum hybrids but unfortunately I am unable to find further information about them.
Pachyphytum Oviferum cv Momobijin (桃美人)

Pachyphytum Oviferum cv Mikadukibijin (三日月美人)

Pachyphytum Oviferum cv Kyobijin (京美人)- no picture.
As you can see some of them are quite different from others.

Oviferum is generally quite easy to look after and again they will only be round and chubby on new growth, almost you can starve them for weeks but they will only be chubby but not round. Summer is usually the dangerous times as you might be slightly overwater them and if you do they might be slightly elongated. If that happens you will probably have to wait til autumn til spring to stress them again.

Despite Oviferum is quite easy to look after, however her cross-breed tends to be more sensitive ie pachyveria, graptophytum ans graptosedum. I lost majority of them (said bye to pink mouffle, clavatum x oviferum, Pelota) on last summer. And you are right they were grown in fancy Korean chin chin pot whereas those that survived were actually grown in terracotta. So my suggestion is if you managed to get your hands on them please ideally pstick to terracotta pot as terracottas porous nature allows for air and water to move through the walls, preventing soil disease and root rot.

Thanks so much for all your helpful blog posts on Oviferum, Amethystinum, and Laui! I love seeing all the hybrids and photos.
(And I think you were referring to my stressing tricks in this post so thanks for the shout out!) 😘
This is awesome! I love that you write these helpful blogs. Do you think you can do one for grow lights vs. outdoors? like how it affects stressing.
