Coronavirus and Brexit update

As much as I try to keep everything running, please understand that everything is not going to run smoothly. 

1. Post Office: Less operating hours 

My local post office closes twice a week and opens for 2 hours hence there will be backlog of orders, please be more patient. 

2. Delays in local deliveries

This is definitely unavoidable.

For example my 1st class post now might take more than 4-5 working days. 

As a small business owner, I do not own any corporate account with Royal Mail or other delivery companies therefore I pretty much could only track the parcel using the same method as everyone else. 

As RM has now extended their inquiry period from 10 working days to 20 working days so I can only enquire about the parcel from RM after 20 working days. 

3. Custom order or plant request 

Due to recent travel ban from most countries (including South Korea), that would mean I am not sure if there is any delay between South Korea and UK. If you do decide to order custom plants, please understand that I can't order any plants from supplier until further notice. 

4. Support small business is as important but please be more flexible 

As much as I am trying to sustain my small business, please be more flexible and considerate.

5. International deliveries 

Due to strict ground network link between France and UK, majority of delivery companies have now suspended ground delivery. UPS, DHL and DPD are now using (ONLY) Air Freight  which would cost 2-3 times of original postage.

Royal Mail has suspended ALL international deliveries. 

6. Missing parcels or delayed 

Before placing any order especially this is international delivery, please check with your local delivery if your country is experiencing any delay, suspended border from UK or pandemic lockdown. I am NOT liable if the parcel is delayed due to these events as you have to understand this is beyond my control. 

I can only update you the current situation in UK so this is your responsibility to check your country is experiencing any delays or lockdown. 

7. Brexit

As you are aware that Brexit regulation starts to apply from 1st January 2021, UK would now require to prepare Phytosanitary Certificate as well as plant inspection prior to sending. I could apply for the phytosanitary certificate which cost £25.52 plus inspection fee of £125.

To make it more economical, I could send the plants without phytosanitary certificate and buyer would bear the responsibility if the parcel is held for inspection, delayed or deny entry.

Although Brexit deal allows free tariff between UK and EU however I am not not entirely sure if there would be any import duty, VAT and clearing fees. If these fees are incurred, buyer would be responsible for these fees.

You will need decide the declaration value for the parcel. Currently I will only declare upto £50 value of the parcel.  If you want me to declare full value of the parcel, you might be liable be much higher import duty as well as further delays.

So if your parcel (without phytosanitary certificate) has gone missing or rejected by upon entry of your country, there won't be any claim or refund made as plants are prohibited items and therefore won't be liable for any claim.

I understand the Brexit has caused many troubles but if you are really really desperate for rare succulents please consider all the issues above before purchasing from me.
